Natures Alphabet

After the birth of my second child I acutely experienced a growing awareness of climate change and it drove me to despair. With 2 very small children, I worried about their future and felt so powerless to do anything about it. With that sense of futility I had the strong urge to paint - paint everything that is beautiful in the world, about our planet. To celebrate the natural world and sort of trap it down on paper - make it everlasting. I created a Nature’s Alphabet and took me a painstaking 18 months to complete - painting during children naptimes and the hours in the evening snatched between their waking.

Each letter is available as a print or card and I donate all proceeds from the card sales to Tree Aid - an amazing tree planting and land restoration charity in Africa.
